Sat/Sun 7:45 AM – 5 PM Weekdays 8:30 – 5 PM
The updated MSF Basic Rider Course (BRCU) introduces the novice/beginner rider to the basic riding skills as well as some advanced riding techniques. The course combines an on-line eCourse, classroom activities, and on-cycle training that accentuate street riding strategies, hazard identification, and motorcycle operation. Motorcycles and helmets are provided for the course. Students may elect to wear their own DOT approved motorcycle helmet if they have one. Additional gear requirements are listed below in the “Riding Gear” paragraph. This course meets the Texas requirement to obtain the “M” endorsement for your driver’s license. Completion waives written and riding skills tests at the TX DPS licensing station for riders over 18 years of age (riders under 18 are required to take a riding test at the licensing station).
Requirements: Minimum age is 15. Students under the age of 18 must provide parental/guardian permission and an unrestricted driver’s license or instructional permit. You must be able to balance a two wheel bicycle. You must complete the MSF Basic eCourse prior to attending the course and provide a printed copy of the completion certificate to your instructor on the first day of class.
**Riding Gear**
All courses require participants to wear a DOT approved motorcycle helmet, long sleeve shirt or jacket, long pants, full-fingered gloves, sturdy over the ankle footwear, and eye protection (shatter resistant sunglasses, eyeglasses or goggles).
